Gasthaus Mühlberghof
Description
The Gasthaus Mühlberghof in Maria Laach am Jauerling is still often referred to as an insider tip. The love here is in the detail. The innkeepers Hermine and Franz Siebenhandl take a meticulous approach in their kitchen. Every move is a handcrafted one - and the focus is always on local produce. The house specialities are particularly popular: the roast onion with parsley potatoes or the spinach pockets with brown butter and vegetables. The roast pork from the old wood-fired oven is not to be scoffed at. A flavourful work of art. A closer look at the menu leaves the same first impression - the Mühlberghof is orientated towards local classics and standards.
Classic tavern cuisine with home-distilled schnapps
The inn has been in existence since 1956 and the Siebenhandl family has been at the helm since 2004. Hospitality, a liberal mindset and a clearly recognisable regional and seasonal approach to food preparation are the cornerstones of this success story. From regulars to day-trippers - everyone feels at home in this inn. The parlour and banqueting hall are invitingly designed and represent the typical atmosphere of an inn. The sunny terrace with a view of the playground is a great place to linger. Unsurprisingly, families with children are welcome guests here. However, the innkeeper's passion should not go unmentioned. Franz Siebenhandl distils excellent schnapps, for which the walnut trees provide the basis.
